Manchester United have agreed to sign Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund for $101 million.

Sancho is expected to sign a five-year contract until 2026.

United also pursued Sancho last summer. Sancho has scored 50 goals in 137 appearances for Dortmund since joining from Manchester City in 2017.

Rafael Benitez has been hired as manager of Everton on a three-year deal.

Benitez previously managed Liverpool and he dismissed Everton at the time as "a small club."

Benitez replaces Carlo Ancelotti as manager.

The contract of Lionel Messi with Barcelona expires on Wednesday meaning he will technically become a free agent on Thursday for the first time in his career.

Barcelona remain confident they will sign Messi to a new contract. Barca are in the process of squaring the numbers with La Liga and the tax office to ensure there are no problems moving forward.

Messi's most recent contract with the club, signed in 2017, was worth more than €500m over four years, including his salary, bonuses and image rights.

Didier Deschamps will remain as manager of France despite their 5-4 defeat to Switzerland on penalties. 

Deschamps is under contract until December 2022.

Deschamps has been in charge of France since 2012. Under him, they reached the 2014 World Cup quarterfinals, the 2016 Euro final and won the 2018 World Cup.

Zinedine Zidane has admitted that coaching France "could be a possibility one day" after Noel Le Graet identified him as his preferred successor for Deschamps.

"My relationship with Le Graet is good. We've known each other since 1998," Zidane said earlier this year.

"It could be an objective one day. I've said it before, when I started coaching 10 years ago, that it's something that could be a possibility one day."

Sergio Ramos has received interest from Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich.

Ramos confirmed he will leave Real Madrid this summer as his contract expires. 

ESPN reported last month that City were considering making Ramos an offerif he did not reach a renewal agreement with Madrid.

Tottenham Hotspur are in talks with Nuno Espirito Santo as their managerial search continues to drag out.

Nuno has not been offered the job as of yet but positive discussions have taken place in recent days.

Nuno is out of work having left Wolves by "mutual agreement" in May after four years in charge, despite having a contract until 2023. Nuno was close to becoming manager of Crystal Palace before talks collapsed. 

Manchester City are close to a $139 million deal with Aston Villa for Jack Grealish.

The deal would be a British record if it goes through, eclipsing the £89.3 million ($124 million) Manchester United paid for Paul Pogba in 2016.

Pep Guardiola and director of football Txiki Begiristain are admirers and interest in Grealish has been growing for more than a year.

Grealish has made 213 appearances for Aston Villa, scoring 32 goals, since making his senior debut for his boyhood club in 2014.

Barcelona are open to swapping Jordi Alba to Inter Milan for Alessando Bastoni, but Alba has no intention of leaving the club.

Alba's contract runs until 2024 and he's one of the club's highest paid players.

Barcelona remains on the market for a left-back regardless of what happens with Alba. 

Arsenal have moved closer to a £50 million ($69.5 million) transfer agreement with Brighton & Hove Albion for Ben White.

White has emerged as Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta’s primary target to operate as a right-sided center back.

Released from Southampton in 2014, White was signed by Brighton and following temporary spells at Newport County, Peterborough United and most notably Leeds United, he broke into the first team at the Amex Stadium last season and was one of the top-flight’s stand-out performers.

Paris Saint-Germain have agreed to a record deal with Inter Milan for Achraf Hakimi. PSG will pay Inter up to €70 million ($83.5 million) for Hakimi.

Hakimi will become the most expensive full-back in football history when the transfer is officially announced next week. He joined Inter last summer from Real Madrid for €40m after two seasons on loan at Borussia Dortmund.
